The Challenge
Cocktail Concerts is a music and events brand that hosts live performances at cocktail bars across the US. Their logo — a martini glass intertwined with a golden letter "C" and a music note stem — uses gold metallic gradients, glass transparency effects, and purple-to-black background lighting.
The only file they had was a 300px PNG with visible pixelation and JPEG compression artifacts from years of being resaved across social media platforms. They needed the logo redrawn as a scalable vector for 6-foot tall stage banners, foil-stamped VIP passes, and embroidered bartender aprons.
The Complexity
This logo was one of the most technically demanding redraws we've handled:
- Metallic gold required multi-stop gradients simulating light reflection on polished metal
- Glass transparency needed layered overlays to convey depth and refraction
- Purple background glow had to be rebuilt as smooth radial gradients — the compressed original showed heavy color banding
- Script text "Cocktail Concerts" followed a curved path inside the glass with precise kerning
The Manual Redraw Process
Every curve of the letter "C," the martini glass silhouette, the music note, and the script text was redrawn with the Pen tool. The gold metallic effect was built using carefully placed gradient meshes and linear gradients across multiple layers. The glass transparency was achieved through opacity masks and blending modes, and the background glow was reconstructed with radial gradients.
We also created a simplified single-color version for embroidery applications where gradients aren't possible — reducing the logo to clean outlines while keeping it recognizable.
