The Challenge
Empower Health is a growing wellness and rehabilitation clinic that originally designed their phoenix logo using Canva. The logo worked fine as a social media profile picture and on their website, but when they expanded to two physical locations, they needed it for clinic signage, product packaging, branded scrubs, and promotional materials.
Canva exports raster files — PNGs and JPGs — not true vectors. The logo was only 800px wide, and when the sign company tried to scale it up for a 4-foot exterior sign, the pixelation was immediately visible. The gradients banded, the script text blurred, and the fine feather details became blocky.
Why They Couldn't Just Remake It in Canva
The original designer was no longer available, and the specific Canva template and elements used were unknown. Attempting to recreate it from scratch in Canva would have produced a different logo — subtle differences in curves, proportions, and color that would look inconsistent next to existing branded materials.
The Manual Redraw Process
We used the Canva export as a reference and manually rebuilt every element in Adobe Illustrator:
- The phoenix silhouette — wings, body, and tail feathers — was traced with smooth, flowing curves
- The pink-to-magenta gradient was recreated with precise color stops matching the original
- The script "Empower" and sans-serif "Health" text were identified, matched, and re-set
- A single-color version was created for embroidery on dark scrubs
- A reversed (white) version was created for dark backgrounds
Final Deliverables
- Adobe Illustrator (.ai) — full-color layered master
- EPS — print and embroidery compatible
- SVG — web and digital use
- PDF — proofing and print production
- High-resolution PNG — social media and digital
- Single-color version for embroidery on dark fabrics
- Reversed (white) version for dark backgrounds
Production Applications
- 4-foot exterior clinic signage
- Embroidered branded scrubs
- Product packaging
- Business cards and promotional materials
Results
The clinic's exterior signs were produced from the EPS files with zero quality issues. The embroidery shop used the single-color version for branded scrubs, and the marketing team now has a complete brand asset kit for any future application.
